Our Dedication to the Morgan Horse
Mossrose Morgans is committed to excellence in breeding, training, and sharing the unique heritage of the Morgan Horse
Our Breeding Program
We meticulously select our breeding stock to ensure the continuation of the true traditional Morgan Horse. Our program focuses on balanced conformation, 3 correct gaits and athletic ability. We appreciate a low maintenance, easy going horse. While it isn't particularly easy to find in the Morgan breed, we want a horse that works off of its' hindquarters & has a strong lope. That's what we like, that's what we have gathered for our herd and that's what we are consistently producing. We are interested in riding and performance. You can't ride a pretty head or color, so we don't focus on those things, but look through our herd and you will find both regardless.
Training and Disciplines
With decades of experience, we start training the day the foal is born and continue with age appropriate training as long as we own the horse. We train our Morgans in a variety of disciplines, showcasing their versatility and adaptability. From pleasure riding to most every competitive event, our horses excel in many areas. Take a look at our Farm News page to see what we've been up to as well as what some of the Morgans we have bred are doing. Get in touch if you would like one of our Morgans. If we decide to list one for sale, it usually doesn't last long.
Understanding Mossrose Morgans
Here you can dive into the rich history and unique traits of the Morgan Horse bloodlines that you will find in our herd. Learn why this American breed is cherished for its versatility, stamina, and enduring legacy as a personable partner and using horse. The early horses in our herd pre-dated the internet. The world wide web opened up doors to easier communication and we were able to define our herd even more. We searched out working western Morgans with ability and cow sense as well as keeping the true hallmark of versatility that the breed is known for. We traveled throughout the United States from coast to coast to look at herds of Morgans to find the lines that suited what we like to do. Mary Jean Vasiloff of Whippoorwill Morgans and Ina Ish of Longstreet Morgans were patient and tireless mentors to us and we are grateful.

Although Jane spent most of her lifetime starting colts and managing the breeding, she now hosts weekly Working Equitation practices and shows some in a variety of disciplines to advance the horses.
